Despite the chemical cleaners available in the market nowadays, the best way to clean DVD’s is by a less low-tech method – a damp, lint-free, nonabrasive cloth. Definitely avoid harsh cleaning agents. When cleaning, wipe the disc using straight motions from the middle (where the hole is) outwards to its edge. Remember, straight motions and not circular. Why? Because DVD drives are quite sensitive to scratches on the discs and incorrect cleaning may lead to scratches. Anyway, if you still encounter problems with your DVD after the first cleaning, clean it again.
Do these, and you’ll be fine, grasshopper.
