I have had lots of very bad experiences with my DVD drive before. I have damaged a total of 2 ROMs and each ROM has its own issue. The first ROM had a damaged lens. The second ROM’s chip exploded inside the computer. Because I have no extra budget for a new ROM, I decided to fix the ROM on my own. I don’t have computer backgrounds but the gadget was not that hard to decipher. I interchanged the two DVD-ROMs—I replaced the damaged lens with a working one (from the second ROM), and voila! A working DVD!
PS: Do not imitate me. It can be dangerous to tinker with your computer.
