    It’s not only imperative that you have a good DVD ROM, you also have to take good care of it. It’s important to handle a DVD more carefully than a CD. You have to hold it by the edge and the hole in the middle. Never ever remove a DVD from its package by carelessly prying it from the case. You should be extra careful with dual-sided discs as you have more surface to scratch (accidentally, of course). Single-sided discs are to be inserted into the player with the title facing up, and placed properly inside the tray before shutting it.
