DVD Recordable (DVD-R) technology is pretty much similar to Compact Disc Recordable. DVD-R is a disc that will be able to store any type of data like video, audio, images, data files, and multimedia. They can also be used on any compatible DVD players.
Compared to CD-R’s, a single DVD-R can store a data size up to 4.7 GB. Since the DVD format also supports a double sided media, a single double-sided DVD-R can store up to 9.4 Gigabytes of various data, pretty much equal to 5 CDs!
